Welcome to FNQ Dive
FNQ Dive has been situated in Cairns for the past ten years and works alongside both Down Under Dive and the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) Scuba College.
Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and with courses at all levels starting almost daily, is the ideal training ground for any person who wishes to become a dive professional.
FNQ Dive’s only business is training dive industry professionals and the following points make us the best choice for many:
- Instructor level courses can be taken at any time. This means a flexible delivery system allowing you to stay at work while completing your study.
- We encourage you to attend our Open Water classes to assist (team teach with) our Instructors prior to, during, and after your course is completed. We start an Open Water course each day and you will be given as much assistance as you require to make that transition from the classroom to the job itself.
- Anyone enrolling on our IDC's is given a FREE Instructor Development Preparatory (IDC Prep Course-valued between $250 and $400). This means no surcharge for "extra" training that you should be getting in the first place. After all, what is an Instructor Development Course for?
- As an IDC candidate you get an extra "kick start" in your new profession with a FREE MSDT Preparatory Course (valued at more than $850). This includes the PADI Equipment Specialty Instructor Course and The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Tourism Staff Certificate. Some Conditions apply. This not only helps with gaining local employment, but enhances your chances of employment at any tropical destination.
- There is a presentation by a Senior Inspector with Workplace, Health & Safety on Diving Legislation and the Code of Practice.
- If after successful completion of your IDC you are not successful at your Instructor Examination (IE), your next IE will be paid for you directly to PADI. Conditions apply.
- Tank and weightbelt rental for the IDC is included in your IDC course fee.
- Discounts on Equipment purchases and Dive Trips.
- If you have a current working visa you may also have the opportunity to certify your first students at the completion of your Instructor Training Programme.
- Assistance will be given for finding employment through PADI's Worldwide Job Placement programme and our other International business contacts. Nearly 100% of our graduates gain employment within two to three weeks of being certified as a PADI OWSI.
- Anyone with an updated AI qualification or an Instructor qualification from another recreational diver training agency will be given credit towards the IDC fee.
- Email contact addresses are available of past students living more local to you whom you may wish to refer to.
