Course objectives
To enable the candidate to organise, conduct and supervise recreational dive training, both land and boat-based, effectively act as an instructor assistant to a teaching status PADI OPEN WATER INSTRUCTOR (or higher) / Develop the theoretical knowledge of candidates to a level sufficient to become an Instructor. The course consists of 3 modules of work:
MODULE – 1 WATERSKILLS AND STAMINA
1. Stamina Assessment and Development
2. Diver Rescue Assessment and Development
3. Confined Waterskill Assessment and Development
MODULE 2 – KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT
1. Role and characteristics of a PADI Divemaster
2. Supervising general diving activities for certified divers
3. Assisting with student divers in training
4. Dive theory introduction
5. Physics of diving
6. Physiology
7. Dive Equipment
8. Decompression theory and dive tables
9. Divemaster conducted programmes
10. Risk management
11. Business of diving
12. Furthering your dive career
MODULE 3 – PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Internship: Each candidate must participate in at least:
1. One PADI Open Water Diver course confined water session.
2. Four additional confined water training sessions from any PADI course or programme.
3. One PADI Open Water Diver course open water training dive.
4. One PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver or PADI Specialty Diver course open water training session.
5. Three additional open water training dives from any PADI course or programme.
6. One supervisory situation with certified divers not in a formal course.
Further to this, candidates have to produce an emergency assistance plan, a map of the local underwater terrain suitable for entry-level training, and perform a problem solving assignment.
Course Fee
$1,800 exclusive of PADI application fees
Prerequisites
PADI Advanced and Rescue Diver certification or equivalent
18 years of age or older.
Diving medical gained within the last 12 months.
Logged a minimum of 20 dives.

Course sessions can be organised to be run whenever it is convenient for you to attend. Divemaster candidates can be tutored initially on a 1:1 basis then merged into small groups for final exercise
